Here is a tool that is used to thickness lines that I made it also will compress wood lines.
I firse took a $21 Stanley 7" plane that I got at Lowes and cut the tip off at the mouth of the plane.

I then took the hacksaw to the plane and removed pat of the left side to open it up for easy access. Always deburring and rounding over the sharp edges.

Then I mounted it to a base with fence of Swamp Ash and a Madagascar RW bed by tapping the right side of the plane for 1/4 - 20 threads and bolting it from underneath. And a quick coat of blonde shellac to finish it up. By pulling the veneer line/strip left to right will scrape it because the edge of the blade is at an 90 degree angle to the fence. Making it with the plane over just a plane blade or chisel allows for easy adjustments of the blade depth and yaw. Eugene Clark uses a # 90 bullnose plane on his setup but they cost $125.

Man, I just threw out a good Stanley block plane that had fallen off the bench and broke off just like yours (without the hacksaw work). [headinwall]
Cool tool.

Nicely done. I'll remember this when I remake mine. Thanks!
