Todd,

Thanks for persevering and getting this up and running. 25 minutes be a long time, but a screwed up guitar is forever. Looking forward to the grand finale.

Regards,

Mark

Todd -

These videos are great - especially for a first-timer.

Question: Is the epoxy being applied to the bare wood? or is something else put on first?

thanks!

IMPO It is best to apply epoxy to the bare wood. If a sealer is used first there is a more than slight chance that the epoxy will not adhere to the sealer. (Depending on the sealer used) Almost all sealers will adhere to cured epoxy resin but epoxy resin can be a bit pickier about what it adheres to.)

Mark-
I think the guitar body is 'prepped' for a bolt-on neck. It's pretty easy to just bolt a 'stick' where the neck will eventually attach, and then hold the 'stick' in a vise.
The stick makes a good 'handle' for holding the guitar when finishing; a loop of cord/wire through the stick end is handy for hanging up the guitar.

Cheers
John

John
This whole process makes an extemely good case on doing bolt on necks. The bolt on area on the body can be used for many uses during the building process.By the way,I used z-poxy to fill the pores on my second build.the body is black locust with dark walnut trim and the neck is dark walnut with curly maple laminated in the middle.
Thanks

Thank you for the video.
Does this epoxy filling apply only to wood with very small pores or also to woods with large pores?
