Post subject:  Rib/Armrest construction

I've not installed an armrest before but have general ideas of how it might be done (theory). Not finding anything on the web on the subject except a lot of very nice finished examples. I'm assuming that the kerfing in those areas are replaced with larger, pre-shaped, exotic woods - and then you radius the exterior as desired to expose the wood beneath. Can anyone shed some light on the basics? How much effect does this have on tone?

John, welcome to OLF.
There is a search function here for viewing specific topics. Typing "armrest" in reveals 21 pages of reference material ...I know some of them are how-to's that'll be usesful to you.
