Like many things in the StewMac catalogue, first time I saw the repair vise I thought I could make one in timber. That was a fair few years ago, but I persisted with my Zyliss vise and different angle wedges. This seemed to be the right time. I'm doing a lot of housekeeping in the shed. New bench; lowered the old bench, and now this repair vise. Components : 3 @ 75 mm X 75 mm X 90 mm Kwila 2 @ 20 mm X 60 mm X 480 mm Cherry 2 @ 200 mm X 25 mm Kwila dowels 1 @ 16 mm X 400 mm threaded rod 2 @ 65mm x90mm x 120mm Pine 2 @ 6mm x 65mm x 120mm hide |

Very nice - I've never seen anything like it! (Or that crazy shop dog with the died hair, either). |

This is the time to mention Marcus, a member here, whose work started me thinking a repair vise in timber would be possible. http://www.anzlf.com/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3094 |
