I am wondering if these are glued aswell...is the fretboard glued to the top plate?
I am talking about the simplest form of this not an adjustable one

Hi Steve,

you can build a bolt on neck similar to the Taylor NT neck which bolts the fingerboard extension as well. http://www.taylorguitars.com/guitars/features/ntneck/Overview.aspx Many builders use a neck like that. (One of the John Mayes DVD's discusses the construction of such a neck).

On my just finished guitar, I used a "regular": 2-bolt neck. I don't have the fingerboard glued on yet (I'll do that once I'm absolutely sure I don't have to take of the neck anymore for a while). I don't notice any negative effects of not having it glued on right now, however I think it's common practice to glue it on.

I bolt the fretboard extension on also.
I'm so glad that I do. I started doing this after I had to remove my first neck.
