Hallo all,
I've been lurking around the forum for a long time.
I have been taking classes under a Israeli luthier and we've started to get to planning the build.
The guitar is gonna be a neck through with a Mahagony neck and body with a maple top.
Problem is that I can't ship Mahagony out of the US. How can I get around it? Surely there are non American outguess that work with Mahagony.
Another dilemma is which bridge to go for. I want the bridge to be 3 dimensional there for I thought about using the 3d-6 schaller bridge. Any thought about it or other ideas?

Lots of other countries grow mahogany, In fact in South America it is very common, they make pallets out of it. Is this a legal thing that you can't buy it from America? It grows in Lebanon so that is a little closer....

Also try looking for used or abused household furniture in your local area, a huge amount of mahogany has been used forever to build furniture. That over-painted old wobbly dresser at the garage sale might really be a score on some 3 or 4 quarter solid slabs...
