...i have been wanting to build a cedarbody electric for some time now. spruce would be 1st choice, but i don't have easy/low cost access to it, so cedar is the next best thing i figure. this strat you are making is beautiful; i would love to play it and see what it sounds/feels like :ugeek:

I got my spruce billet from Mario and it was acoustic grade spruce from a split billet. I tested it for runout and it had zero. I like the look of the medullary rays, so it wasn't cheap.

However, this guy in Canada sells more affordable spruce blanks, they're $30 each, shipping from Canada is probably $20.
