Hi,

Neck : 5 parts maple/paduk with wenge and maple sheets...
Headplate : ebony, MOP inlay (Imago et Dragonfly),
Ebony fretboard 24 cases, with LP Standard style MOP inlays
Snakewood bindings fot the body and the fretboard...
Piclups : P90 style made by a french luthier : Franck Chérubin

Then, the dragonfly, white and black MOP :

I didn't work for 3 weeks on the guitar because I built a drum sander :D :

It works great and helps a lot for thicknessing (???) the snakewood bindings... ;)

To be continued... (I'm gluing the peghead ears)...

See ya,

Jojo, that looks great! Nice job on the inlay. I really like the neck laminations as well. My one bit of advice would be that I don't think the neck tenon needs to extend past the neck pickup. In fact, I don't think it even needs to go under the neck pickup, unless I'm looking at things incorrectly.

Anyway, awesome job. I look forward to seeing the finished product.

Thanks for the comments Mike :D ;)

For the neck tenon, I just wanted to try the "long tenon set neck" after a neck trough construction with the explorer and a classical set neck with the second guitar...

But in fact, my laminated neck blanck is ti short, it will only extend to neck neck pickup cavity...

Have a nice day,

Regards,

Jojo

Jojobilou thanks for posting this in process build. This sure helps those of us that are a little afraid to take the jump.

I love the design of the guitar. Is it your design or??

Would it be permissable to make a few design changes?

Mike

Hi JoJo,

No, I sure don't want you to change it. I wanted to make a double cut away out of it, but I have not found anything that looks as good as the original. I did tweak the head stock a little but it is very minor.

I will be watching this thread.

Thanks alot Jojo, I'm a member there too, just not a "supporting" member, yet.
I use http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ to translate. It helps alot, but not 100%
Merci pour toute votre aide. Je suis sûr que j'obtiendrai beaucoup d'utilisation hors de la ponceuse de tambour.

That's funny, I've always wondered what it looks like on the other end. I'm sure I have made a fool of myself a time or two.

The fretboard looks great, I really like the snakewood

;) The funniest in the translation above is "la ponceuse de tambour" for drum sander... in french, you call it "ponceuse calibreuse"... "la ponceuse de tambour" sounds like "the snare drum sanding machine" something like that...

These afternoon, I made the cavities for the Imago white pearl inlay :

And a 1/2" roundover for the sipo mahagony body :

That's all for today... ;)
