I'm building my first slotted headstock and seem to have run into an issue. I've thicknessed the headstock to 5/8" not realizing that the available slot head tuning pegs are all geared for a 3/4" headstock. oops_sign

Now I'm at a little bit of a loss as to what the best way to deal with the issue would be. Any ideas?

(the fretboard isn't glued on yet)

Glue another veneer to the back of the headstock.

Very nice looking lap steel jaydawg!
Yeah, I see Arnt beat me to the punch, just add an 1/8" lam to the back of the headstock.
Just makes it a little classier.

Nice work!
I just installed a set of Gotoh for Slot Head tuning machines, LMI Part # GGBSLOT.
I just measured them and they are 5/8"
