Post subject: | Removing tunomatic and stop tail posts? |
Hi! I'm in the process of finishing my first build. I've installed Gotoh tunomatic bridge and stopbar tailpiece, and strung it up "in the white" to make sure everything's good prior to finish. When the weather turns and finish time comes, I need to remove the threaded bushing inserts prior to finishing. Can someone run me through the process? Note that I have only hand tools, so chucking a bolt into a drill press and threading it into the bushings and then using the drill press to pull them is not an option. Thanks in advance for your help. |

All you need is a claw hammer and some scrap wood. Screw the post into the bushing (but not all the way), then use the hammer to pull the whole thing out like a nail. Use the scrap wood to keep the hammer from marring the face as you pry it out. |

Thanks, John! Surprisingly simple solution. Incredible that I did not think of that. Thanks again. |
