I am refinishing a bass that some one used hardware store tung oil on. Is it critical to get every bit of it out of wood before I refinish? I am planning on zpoxy pore filling the grain. I have sanded with 320grit and wiped down with Naptha . Any Suggestions?

If tung oil was used on bare wood (that is probably the case), I don't think you'll be able to get it out, cause oil is a penetring finish, that go deep in the wood.

But, if i'm not wrong, Z-poxy will easily stick over the oil, and after, the wood will be sealed, and you can put any finish you want. The only thing is... if the oil colored the wood, you'll have to deal with this color.
