Phillipo, I have little experience using vacuum for glue-ups (have all the equip. - just haven't put it together yet) but I'm puzzled by your statement. Shouldn't a lower gas pressure also lower the vaporization point of the water and liquids in the glue? I understand the use of the breather cloth to allow gas-off in all areas.

Wouldn't an extended time under vacuum allow a complete drying of the glue?

That figure right at the bookmatch looks like a Killer Alien Stingray. Beautiful piece of wood. Under finish it's going to look like in Star Wars when they'd make the jump to light speed (with a killer alien stingray) :).
