I don't know how it is done exactly, but it has some major flaws in my book. Namely, how do you bend? How about a re-fret? or just a re-crown? Seems like a good idea to an extent, but the negatives out-way the positives especially since you can accomplish essentially the same thing by just smart intonation and compensating the nut a little bit. |

Looks cool, so it will obviously be big. I thought I had seen this in AL, but all I could find was a guy who had used a ton of little segments. I think two other minor issues would be using any kind of newer hard frets, and it would presumably limit string choice, though in effect any problems there are there for regular frets, but here there is at least the pretense of perfection. Be the first to fan fret it... According to their site, the frets are cast in silicon bronze. Installation is done with standard techniques. Dressing is also done in a standard ways, but takes a lot longer. Fair to assume the boards are CNC cut. |

Just seems gimmicky to me. Kinda like a bridge I saw that promises to reduce string vibration yet enchance resonance. Very contradictory. |

And all other instruments aren't tuned on the true temperament... you can't even play with anybody. Too much cons for any pro... |

I'm going to send them a neck and try it out before I immediately say too many cons, not enough pros. The guys in the videos don't seem to be having too much trouble laying and bending, and their guitars sound pretty in tune, more so than most guitars sound to me when you add a lot of distortion. Looks interesting. I'm intrigued! It very well may turn out to be a total gimmick but I'll try it first. The price for one of their Warmoth necks fitted with the system is about $800. The site states that a luthier can send them a neck and they'll slot and fret it. |

Their claim is that their fretting system compensates for inconsistencies in string physics that aren't normally dealt with by adjusting the saddle. It's still equal temperament unless you specify otherwise- the 'True Temperament' title is just a trade name. A compensated nut will do the same thing, and you can keep straight frets with that. Seriously better off playing with a combination of multi scale and nut compensation. just Nut compensation gets you closer to in tune than anyone could tell a diff. |
