$117 DISCOUNTED for a one-piece of swamp ash :O Holy!!! Man... that really goes to show the whole "anything you can slap the word 'luthier' on you can mark up like hell!" That said, with how much those will cost to ship, you'll have to find someone else really close to you to go in with. Doubling shipping is gunna negate any savings from buying 5+ for sure for whoever they don't get originally delivered to.

Really that bad eh? Do you have a better source? I cant just buy swamp ash that size up here, tried long and hard.
My first guitar was a 3 piece blank I paid $75 for. wow7-eyes

There is A&M near your that have some at 75$. They don't have 1 piece blank in normal stock, but I'm sure they could find some for you. Their blanks are 2 or 3 pieces. Last time I asked for a 2 piece with a seam that doesn't show up too much, and well, I had what I asked.

i have never actually worked with "swamp ash" and anytime i have seen it the prices seem ridiculous. maybe it has some superior qualities that make it worth it. for me the 150 year old ash from the wetland behind my buddies farm is serving me fine. dont know if its "swamp ash" or not.. but then i dont really care either. it got downed in an ice storm a a few years ago, the wet soil just couldn't hold it up with all that extra weight, now ive got some nice 2"x13"x8' boards. all that to say i dont think i can help you out on that one. i usually dont spend much more than that on a whole guitar let alone just the blank body.

one other thing, stewmac's swamp ash body blanks are only 113 and 101 if you buy 3 or more. just slightly smaller dimensions though. is there anything wrong with stewmac body blanks? ive never bought wood from them other than fretboards

Swamp Ash is regular white ash but that have grown in a wet environment (swamp). It grows faster and the wood tends to be lighter than normal ash that is pretty heavy. So, your ash is probably ''swamp'' ash.
