thanks for the link but I have 5 wires coming from the neck pickup and 3 from the bridge pickup.Just a little confused, I've looked at about all the wiring diagram I can find and none really tells me much. owln

Your bare wire in your diagrams is a ground, so it just goes to the closest ground you can find. Your neck picup is a 4-wire humbucker and your bridge is a 2-wire humbucker. The 4-wire humbucker allows for coil splitting. If you don't know what that is, then you need to check with the manufacturer on their wiring because you need to link the two coils together making it a 2-wire. look at the diagram here http://www.guitarelectronics.com/product/WD2HH3T22_00/Guitar-Diagram-Gibson-2-Humbuckers-2-Volumes-2-Tones-3-Way-Toggle-Switch-View-Download-Free
You need to know which colors are your north finish and your south finish on the neck pickup, but your bridge has the coils linked inside the pickup. Hope that helps.
