Any tips on getting a good binding look, like PRS, on a great maple top? I understand the finish is scraped to look like binding, but curious on how to prevent chipping, etc. If there has been a toot, please send me in the right direction. My searches resulting in leveling binding.

Thanks

Stew Mac's has a tutorial that may help. http://www.stewmac.com/freeinfo/Finishi ... uitar.html

I do it basically like the stew mac tutorial. The best advice I can give on it is to use automotive pin striping tape. Regular masking tape won't cut it, especially if you are staining the wood itself, and then you can just scrape to clean it up.

Thanks! I reviewed the Stew-Mac tutorial and it was just what I needed to know.
