A friend purchased an inexpensive Telecaster and the bridge is very cheap. It also has string height adjustment screws that stick up rather high and literally cuts his hand when he plays. I looked at several potential replacements in the Stew Mac catalog but thought I'd see if any of you have suggestions on a quality replacement.

Thanks...

Chuck

The EBTE is really great. I just bought it and it's really good for the price.

Be careful, there are different string through hole positions on vintage and modern telecaster bridges and between mexican and USA. check what is on there first.
You can grind down the ends of the existing screws to avoid them sticking up

+1

Is the guitar a string through body, 3 saddle or 6 saddle, Ash tray or flat bridge?
Also the pup cav may not match up to the new bridge.
If you have a guitar store nearby that stocks "Allparts", you could take the bridge with you and match it up.
Once you know what will fit, you could look for a used one on ebay.

Thanks guys. It's a brand new Mexican (I assume) Tele purchased from Guitar Center for $380 with a 6 saddle bridge that's honestly a piece of junk. It's the through the body string style and it's the short one for use with the rectangular humbucker pickups. It has 3 mounting screws on the plate.
