Thanx man, but I want a CNC template for my tablesaw slotting system, I don't have a ruler that measures in the thousandths of an inch. I've already looked at the stew-mac calculator, I guess I should have mentioned that. |

My usual double post, of course. |

I would be shocked if you could find that for sale anywhere. 36" basses are too rare. My suggestion would be to make one yourself with something like wfret (you know about that, right?), or get commission someone to build it for you, if you're not comfortable with it. Not me, of course, since I suck. |

I think I found someone with the correct equipment to fabricate an accurate template or me. If it turns out otherwise, I'm sure I'll have no problem making one. Never heard of wfret, I don't usually dabble in the odd scales, but I just had a commision dropped in my lap for a 36" scale custom single-cut neckthrough 4 string bass. It's gonna be cool! Most likely I'll build one for myself as well. I also have recently had a six string bolt-neck bass commisioned. Looks like this is Bass Month. |

Maybe you could attach a digital readout to your table saw slotting system; Something similar to this - http://www.amazon.com/iGaging-DigiFENCE ... pd_cp_hi_3 |

That looks pretty nifty. I'd have to find a way to adapt it to my slotting sled. If it's anything like any of my digital calipers I've had, it has a slight margin of error in the thousandths of an inch reading over the span. That could probably work, though, somehow. |

Thanx to this guy : http://www.ziegenfussguitars.com/ I now have the coolest fretting template on Earth, possibly in the entire Universe It has two scale 36 inch extra long bass, and 27 inch guitar (like Bucketheads Gibson). It also has scribed center line, and built-in drill bushings that will allow me to install precisely located positioning dowels in the neck and back of the fretboard. I also went to his website and downloaded his EP so I have new music to listen to while I fix or build stuff. How cool is that?!? |

Just buy some digital calipers from harbor freight, cheap and accurate and big enough for your needs. |
