Currently building this single cut, figured I would share some pictures The guitar will also feature the new Schaller "Da Vinci" tuners! Currently the guitar is at it's fifth coat of finish PS: Luminlay "SGM-23 super blue" which was normally designed for using on Maple fingerboards (because of the black surrounding) looks really awesome fitted to this Indian Rosewood fingerboard! sealer coat... 3rd coat... |

I dont think that anybody carries them yet, this is very new stuff, I've ordered some 2 days ago directly from Schaller, should be receiving them in 3-4 days I suppose... Will post some pictures Best is to contact directly Dr. Lars Bünning by using the contact form on schaller's website like I have, he will then send you a .pdf with the prices http://schaller-electronic.com/hp306/Contact.htm |

verhoevenc wrote: Good to know where the line sits. Also, good to know you got it at dealer prices and not from a retailer like you might have and could have been a logical conclusion. Chris You really think that I order parts from retailers? I'm a professional guitar builder, when I order parts, when possible, I always order them from the brands directly at the source... Why would I pay extra money and pay the retailers part of the cake? I've been working with schaller for 16 years now. Currently there are no DaVinci tuner retailers/luthiers supplier which sell them, its new stuff, this is why you currently have to order them directly from the brand... Pat |

Trying to capture the finish I've just achieved after spending the last week applying the 10 coats... I just finished carefully buffing it all out to a satin look! |

That said, chiding someone and implying that what they were asking for is of poor taste simply because they don't know your life story... that I think it's a little presumptive and odd. But to each their own. But like I said, good to know where Pat H. draws the line on good taste. Chris You clearly totally misunderstood my first comment and are being quite aggressive, I must say... Where did I accuse anybody and was chiding someone implying that asking for the prices is of poor taste? If you did read correctly my post you would read this: Quote: I dont think that its a good thing to post dealers prices on a public forum, I find it to be of very poor taste... = talking in general, not accusing anybody... Can you now please tell me who I was accusing and chiding please? |

I for one love the hufschmid build threads, each and everyone. They keep the forum active, and they're nice to look at. I want some of the da vinci tuners too, but if he doesn't want to tell his price, he just doesn't want to. I don't think you have any right to insult his threads or his designs, your designs are typically copies of myka designs, and speaking of builds and teaching, I don't recall seeing you post a teaching build lately. Suffice to say, your little pissy attitude is running it's course, if you don't like it, don't click on it. |

verhoevenc wrote: Downright accusing? No one. But if you say "very poor taste" there's an obvious connection to thinking someone asking for this 'poor taste' information would be in poor taste. My main beef is you seem to use this forum as a marketing tool. Which baffles me since we don't buy guitars... We build them. So it comes down to you build a LOT of guitars with quick turnover and it seems we see a thread for EACH one, they're more often than not VERY similar too. And to boot, they don't really teach anything either. So we get a bi-weekly thread of the same guitar made of sapele, with MAYBE a top laminate, and a routed bevel... Chris Thank you for your very constructive comment, I am so sorry that you do not like my instrument and all the informative topics I have posted showing how I build guitars to potentially help people who are looking for information or the ones who keep sending me emails everyday about how I build my instruments... I build 10 guitars every year, like it or not I make a living building guitars and you simply can not live if you build 5 guitars every year unless you live in a very poor country.... (indeed 80 hours is very FAST for building a solid body electric guitar) You really are very aggressive, I wonder what I have done to you and now you are trying to invent things to prevent making you feel stupid, so on my side, I will stop feeding you since you are quite obvioussly a troll... Also yeah, it makes sens to use a luthiers forum as a marketing tool because we all know that luthiers sell guitars to luthiers... care to continue trolling me? I would love that jimmysux wrote: I for one love the hufschmid build threads, each and everyone. They keep the forum active, and they're nice to look at. verhoevenc wrote: Yes, my designs are highly influenced. I wouldn't say copies, but yes, definitely influenced. And no, I haven't posted a HELP thread lately. I've been busy. But I've done a TON in the past, videos included. Secondly, I'll say whatever I want, he can argue it if needed. But when someone has a company where they regularly produce very similar models one after the other, do we really need to see them ALL? Why not join in the weekly threads? Do ALL his builds need a thread when they are highly repetitive. Nice or not. Also pat, read. I said it was odd that you post so much of the same stuff that it SEEMS like you use it as one. It was a comment, not saying you DO use it AS one. Also, I ne'er said I don't like your instruments. I said they all use the same techniques over and over. Do we really need to see the same steps time and again? Chris a company? I dont own any companies, I am 1 person who builds guitars in my little 5 square meters wine cellar and Hufschmid is my last name, sorry that I've achieved bothering you so much in your life for building guitars What IS of poor taste is slamming down the designs and creations of somebody who does the same activity as you... You are currently doing a great job at that for your information: Quote: A company is a business organization. It is an association or collection of individual real persons and/or other companies, who each provide some form of capital. This group has a common purpose or focus and an aim of gaining profits. This collection, group or association of persons can be made to exist in law and then a company is itself considered a "legal person". The name company arose because, at least originally, it represented or was owned by more than one real or legal person. you may also want to read the forum rules: http://luthiersforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10129&t=22782 Quote: 1. Cool build, very crisp looking! Would be nice to see some in progress photos if you have any. I am new to the forum but it is about building I suppose! It would be nice, however, to know whether these new schallers are available to us 'mere mortals' yet! Bit confused about how asking about it is in poor taste but anyway, nice build. Is there any stain on the sapele? |

You aren't spamming at all, and just like you said you gave instructions on where to go for the information they desired. This is a luthier forum, and you post builds. I've enjoyed all of them and hope to see a lot more in the future. You've never once tried to sell anything in these threads and your designs are 100% original. I also don't expect you'd really be trying to market and sell to a bunch of luthiers regardless, that's kind of like GM trying to sell cars to Ford. |

What point? That he posts builds on a luthiers forum? That you dont know where he buys from despite the fact the back of the tuners clearly say schaller, and the fact he said he bought these directly from schaller? That he makes the same type of guitar with his builds? Are you going to go to PRS, Gibson, and Fender and complain that each of their guitars is not drastically different in design and materials than the other? You've really made no viable points. You've just gotten your feathers ruffled and went off insulting someone. |

Holy crap, leave the man alone. He's not posting pics of guitars and saying, "Hey everybody, look at what I've got for sale." He's just posting pictures of what he builds. Isn't that what this forum is all about? I don't see anything in the rules that prohibits full time professionals from showing everything they build and frankly, there's not so much going on here that we need to scare people off of posting. I'd rather look at 'yet another' Hufschmidt than have this section sit idle like the resonator area. Sure it would be nice to see some jigs and technical stuff, but there's no requirement that people do that. The MIMF killed itself over this kind of stuff, don't do it here. Oh, and I've sold two guitars to other builders. |
