Just a note to let you all know how impressed I am with the staff at Dimarzio.

Over the course of several lengthy phone calls I spoke with people in both sales and engineering. I got every question answered and a fair bit of chatting besides. I can only qualify them as TOP NOTCH from a customer service standpoint.

I ordered 3 sets of:

Tone Zone DP 155 Bridge
Air Norton DP 193 Neck

I expect this is the sound I'm looking for, but if not, their web site is laid out very nicely with respect to the mV output and numerical tonal qualification of each pickup model...so any subsequent choice can be made based upon these values. Makes the next selection less subjective.

Anyway....hats off to Dimarzio. They're doing business right in my book.

Except they said my pickup rings were the product of a sick mind....I'm letting that slide.

Let us know what you think of the pickups. I am currently planning my first new build in over 15 years, and was considering some of DiMarzio's newer offerings.

I'm using DiMarzio a Crunch Lab 7 and Liquifire 7 set in a current build. I haven't installed them yet, but they look nice and have a solid feel.

That's awesome Stuart - I JUST contacted them last week in regards to some pups for my builds and the tone I am looking for on these axes and they suggested the following: PAF (DP103) in the neck and a Norton (DP160) in the bridge - they even spent the time to email me the wiring diagram for the coil tap configuration I am using - so yes, I have them on my A list too.
