I rceived a back and side set yesterday and stickered it in a humidity controlled room and this mornig it`s twisted and warped all to heck.This has happenned to me about 3 times.I`m assuming the wood was pretty damp when I received it.The question now is how to return it to being flat.Maybe I should try dampening it and ironing it out.Any help is always appreciated.I`ve tried the laying it on the concrete floor with weight on it trick and this will bring it back close,but when I put it the rh room it wants to freak out again. James |

Look for my post in this thread... viewtopic.php?f=10101&t=35465 ...in which I describe what I do do to flatten out curled up panels. Some species react a lot better than others to this method. For instance, Walnut does exactly what it's told to do, and goes back to "flat" pretty easily whereas Maple seems to take more heat and time to fix. I don't have enough experience doing this to say exactly how to fix any given species. You'll have to experiment yourself. Be prepared for the color to change a little. |

Stuart has a lot of aluminum just laying around! Personally, I wouldn't use wood that is freaking out, on a geetar. Sticker it, let it be for a year, and see if it's still freaking! What kind of wood, how thick, is it for an acoustic or electric? |
