I was planning to use this tailpiece with a gotoh tune o matic bridge: http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_ta ... piece.html

However, because of my body size, it will only leave about 1 inch between it and the bridge. I would prefer closer to 2 inches.

Anyone think that this resonator tailpiece could be used with a 2" thick flat top hollow body electric? http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_ta ... piece.html

Might offer a bit of a unique sound and look.

Found this under the reviews for that first taipiece:

"Nice For Modifications
Used for a modification to a 1999 PRS Hollowbody II. It fit beautifully over the carve of the body, although I had to slightly widen the center hole to allow the strap button screw to thread cleanly. The metal works cleanly if you need to shorten and re-thread the arms with a tap. I plan to buy more for future projects."

I'm sure the resonator one would work just fine but if you like the first one, (which I like better) sounds like you can make it work for your purposes.
