So I'm rounding home on my first build and the last major things to do before assembly are to finish my nut and do my head stock inlay. I've gone with wood mostly for the materials but today when I went to a jewelry supply store I asked about some metal plate for an element I was going to include. The lady at the counter mentioned they had some copper discs for sale, for pretty cheap no less, so I picked one up. Originally I was going to cut a cross out of it that the woman in my inlay would be clutching but after seeing it I thought of something else...

Here's a look at my lady:

and here's what I think I'm gonna do with the copper:

So my question is, should I be concerned with putting a copper slug on the headstock of my guitar from a vibration/sustain standpoint? I'll likely put down a layer of epoxy first so it will not be in direct contact with the wood, but I figured I'd throw the question out there to those with more experience than me. If it's a problem I could easily replace the disc with wood so it's no biggie, just thought it looked nice with copper. What do you think?

It's been done before - no problems.
I like your inlay concept, too.

Extra weight at the headstock usually improves sustain.

That's pretty cool! It took me a while to see the face. Awesome!

...also you can buy sheet copper at most home improvement stores, 14"X20" or so
