I've had great luck using StewMac conductive paint inside elex cavities for bodies loaded with single coils. Coupled with proper grounding and other shielding, most of my builds are pretty quiet. My question is this: Can I shoot paint (I use lacquer) on TOP of the pre-treated areas without affecting the conductive paint's properties I wish I was an electronics guru, but I'm not. Anyone? |

Lacquer is a plastic, basically (at least as far as I understand). Think of the conductive paint like a big wire spread over a large surface. When you shoot lacquer over the conductive paint, you're insulating it, like a plastic insulation over any other wire. As long as you don't break conductivity between the things you're intending to ground and your conductive paint, it's not a problem. However, if you're using that paint to ground your pots or something, make sure you don't have any lacquer in those spots. Did I understand that right? I'm no guru either, but I've learned a little through the School of Hard Knocks. |

Pretty good analogy. I'll give it a shot and see what happens. I just don't like the way the black paint looks inside the Stratocaster cavities. Thanks |
