Post subject:  Pre-amp and pickup wiring

I was pointed here about a wiring Question. I would like to build the acoustic/electric hybrid in the pic below but had some questions about wiring and stuff. OK first things first. The guitar utilizes a single humbucker pickup with a preamp and three control knobs. I want to do it a lil different and this is how. I want to utilize one coil tapped rail pickup with a tone pot and the volume is on the preamp. My problem is all the preamps I'm finding come with a piezo electric pickup that connects to the preamp via 2.5mm plug. How would I wire my pickup and tone pot to the preamp system?

First, why do you need a pre-amp? Is there something you're not telling us, such as you also want an undersaddle pickup?

Second, three control knobs... a tone pot and the volume is on the preamp, what's the third control?

Do you have a pre-amp you want to use, or are you going to build you own pre-amp?

Ok I looked at the guitar from a different perspective and realized what I thought was a preamp is actually a 5-way switch. I feel really dumb about that one.

Ok it has a 5 way switch and the knob controls are one volume and two active preamp/tone controls.
Volume is bottom knob middle knob is bass and treble knob is top knob closest to neck. I don't really need all that I guess. I think it would be easier for me to use a single hot-rail pickup coil tapped with volume and tone pot.

I doubt it's a 5-way switch, that would imply 3 pickups. The guitar pictured probably has a UST or SBT in addition to the magnetic pickup, and requires a preamp to blend the signals. If all you want is a magnetic pickup, there's no reason for a preamp.
If you can't tell me how many and what type of pickups you want to use, and how you want the controls to work, I won't be much help.
