Ok so obviously im wiring a flying v here. It's a two humbucker, two volume, one tone, three way switch, the cap is a paper and oil .015 uf Emerson. All pots are 500k My question is about a 50's style wiring diagram vs a newer style as seen on the semor Duncan website. Basically the neck and bridge volumes are wired exactly the same. The tone however is different. The old style has the switch output split, one way to the hot output jack, and the other to the cap, then to the 500K pot, and finaly ground. The newer diagram has the pot first and cap second, then ground. Does the order of cap and resister make any difference sound wise? Also does the bridge need to be grounded? The new shows this but the old does not... Sent from Tapatalk 2 |

the Seymour Duncan schematics sound like safety modifications...electric guitarists in the past have been electrocuted when their amps malfunctioned and sent 400+ volts to the guitar strings. i don't think the modern configuration should affect tone/output; i'd go with it |

And, yes - the bridge needs to be grounded (unless you like a lot of hum). |

It shouldn't affect tone either way. |
