So I finally got to string this up and play it this past weekend, specs are as follows:
26.125" scale length
mahogany neck through construction, mahogany body wings
ebony fret board and ebony face plate on headstock.
24 medium-highest Jescar nickel-silver frets
schaller strap locks
direct-mounted bill lawrence l-500 series pickups.
cream binding on body and headstock, fretboard has white fiber and ebony binding.
deer antler nut
cts 500k pots
switchraft switch and output jack
locking tuners, Jin-Ho's, cheap, but they do the trick.
two-way adjustable truss rod.
anyhow, on to the pictures.

also for the finish, the top is stained with KEDA DYES black powder, and a couple sealing layers of shellac, the rest of the body is done in shellac, french polished though the pictures don't reflect the gloss very well. I used Hemp oil as a lubricant when polishing, and this gave me way better results than olive oil. I recommend using hemp oil to anyone, just to try and see what you think.
This is my second build ever, please let me know what you think!

Wow Mark!
That's a winner!
I dig the head stock design - strings run straight to nut. I bet it's easy to fret.
Is the Mahogany American or African?
Will you fabricate a truss rod cover or leave it open?

Nice job! I heard deer antler was too soft for a nut. Do you fine that to be the case? I imagine not since you used it!

thanks guys, the mahogany is S. American, and as for the truss rod cover, I haven't made up my mind yet. I made one from mahogany, but didn't care for the way it looked. I'm considering making one from steel and polishing it up. we will see. The deer antler isn't bad, it sounds very nice. the center of an antler is very porous, but this one was big enough to get some nice hard blanks without much of the marrow part in it. I originally made one with a bone blank I had bought, but it was not thick enough for the slot, this one is fairly big compared to most at 5/16" thick. the nut is also 45mm wide, which I was afraid might make it feel too wide, but it is extremely comfortable.

thanks guys! Filippo, the hemp oil I used is from Manitoba Harvest, I'm not sure about worldwide availability of it, but you should be able to find some from other companies at any health food store. Just look for "cold-pressed hemp oil"
