Hey, this is my first post here so I'd like to say hello to everybody, and im from Poland. when i was 15 I came with idea of making my own guitar based on Petrucci model (he is my "guitar hero"). So i got to the work and cut nice shapes of music man body and not so nice but still pretty fine neck. Then i tried to fit them both ... Id say ... Why i touched this router without templates ? Anyway, I lefst this whole thing untoutched of three years untill now. What did i do now, i took ruined slot and fitted and glued there piece of mahogany ( body is maple). Im going to fit the neck again with help of luthier familiar to me (but he does middleages instruments not guitars). Some photos of whole thing below. Now, I'd like to ask you about some help where i should go from there. Since, In my country any luthier dont want to tell you anything how to exacly do something I came here. I want to use wsc production hard tail bridge instead of tremolo or floyd, 2 humbuckers in best case dimarzio Petrucci signature picups, locking tuners from gotoh, 25,5" rosewood or ebony fretboard with 24 frets and 16" radius, pickup swith and volume and tone knob. So, im at the dead spot, is it worth continuing work? If yes, what should i do now since I have no templates and proffesionall tools as most luthiers on youtube have from stewmac (i have commonly household used tools, and router, some sawing equipment, and some hand tools, and column? Drill i mean this table drill). Also, Please tell me, should the neck be face-flat with body or should it be below of the surface? I mean, with this bridge i want to use, how thick should the fretboard be or in other words, how much neck with fretboard i need to have sticking out of the body surface to be able have nice string action? I think I have wrote enough for one time but im centrainly going to ask more questions if ill be not sure about something. Since im new to this forum I have read just very few topics but im going to read more. I know my drawings on body are not perfect but thats justa preview of whats going on with axis of the body and other things.Thank you for everything, and have a nice day!
If i had to start all over again i would use templates with created with cad software (order it on cnc)
