I'm looking for some free profile drawings for a LP carved top. I have the 50's profile, but I prefer the less pronounced later profile. Anyone? Thanks, Dan |

The difference between 50's carve and the 70's carve is the presence or lack of recurve at the edge. I have this graphic of a comparison, don't know where I got it but the differences are greatly exaggerated on it. The carve is basically the same on both , just the later ones do not have the recurve carved in around the edge. The only real reason for the change was to save labor. Dan, there are a number of build threads on mylespaul.com that are worth checking out. (A google search will take you there or use the search engine on the site). I love Les Paul's, I look forward to seeing progress pictures. |
