What I want to do is in theory quite simple. But I'm a bit unsure how to execute it. I want to use a simple preamp with piezo system such as this: http://www.amazon.com/Belcat-UK-400T-Uk ... cat+uk400t along have a typical electric guitar pickup. I want to have a selector switch or blend knob that can select back and forth between these two systems. Any tips for me? |

All I want to do is have an electric guitar pickup (standard design with magnetic pole pieces) alongside an undersaddle peizo pickup and be able to switch back and forth between the two with a blend knob or selector switch. Or alternatively, simply have each on all the time and just have 2 volume knobs - one for each pickup. I am open to any way to make such a setup happen and am coming up short on tips and write ups online. Any suggestions would be awesome. |

I built this guitar many years ago pretty much as you describe. I used an transducer on the underside of the sound board, it was originally designed for a medical application I believe and it had enough output to use as is and ran it straight to the jack, the a couple of pickups and a volume knob of each of the pick ups. No selector switch, just turn the volume off but the transducer was always in the mix. This design was my customers, not mine. It seems to work pretty well. Attachment: front view small.jpg

You could use something like the schematic in the attached .pdf Attachment: MIMFmag.pdf Here a shot of one I built. Attachment: IMGP2994.JPG
