Post subject:  Adding a signature to headstock

Hi all,

I've now applied around 6 or 7 coats of oil to my neck and head, and have decided I'd just like to squiggle my signature on the headstock.

What options do I have? Could I just use a marker pen/sharpie and write straight on? Or is it worth ordering a transfer/decal?

I planned to add the signature now, then coat the final layers of oil to finish. Any suggestions would be most helpful

Use a paint pen found at you local art supplier. Sharpie will dissolve into a runny mess under a coat of finish.

There's this option:

Incidentally, that's also an oil varnish finish.

that looks really nice, but I think with my skill I'd probably carve a line down the entire neck and into my hand!
