Hello everyone!
I knew to the forums, and I need an opinion on my guitar design, It's based of a gibson Explorer. And I have a few questions regarding the body.

As you can see in the attached picture, There is a GibsonLes Paul custom next to it for scale. My question is, will my guitar body be too small.

At its narrowest point, it is a little wider than a les paul custom, however it seems like the body itself will be to small for the design. It has a surface area 15 (inches squared) less than a Les paul custom, I know i can fit all the electronics and hardware no problem, but I just don't want the guitar body to be too small for the design, as the regular Gibson explorer is a few inches wider and taller than my design. Im using a bass sized mahogany body blank from warmoth guitars, and currently I can't fit a larger design onto the blank.

The Gibson explorer looks awesome when you play it, everything is nice and proportional and I just dont want my body to look or feel "Too small"

Any comments will be appreciated

-Nick

Make a full size cardboard gut out with neck attached and sit/ stand with it and decide if the body is too small.

Small or large - that's a matter of opinion for each player. The real arbiter is what YOU LIKE if the guitar is for you. If a client is paying for it, it's what he or she likes. Simple as that.
