Post subject:  Looking for instructional DVD's

Hello, I’m looking for some information on some good, instructional dvd’s for construction of acoustic guitars, electric/bass guitars (including related electronics), inlay techniques, and finishing techniques. I’m asking for my husband, who is unable to have internet access at this time. He’s made some beautiful guitars by being self taught, but is looking for more detailed instructions. Any suggestions?

This is the book with which I started:
https://www.amazon.com/Guitarmaking-Tra ... 0811806405
It is very good and uses mostly hand tools, highly recommended.

This book is also very good, particularly for archtop guitars.

There are also a lot of tips and techniques useful for any type of guitar construction.

If you really want to understand the physics behind how a guitar works, get this:

It's basically a college level textbook, and is priced accordingly.

Robbie O'Brien's online courses are very good, IMO. https://obrienguitars.com/courses His courses are downloadable so you don't have to have internet access to use them once you have them downloaded.

Look around for Dan Erlewine's series from Stewart-MacDonald. Very well done and packed with useful, hands-on information. You might find them used on eBay. Expensive but well worth it.

While he is without internet, will he have access to a workshop? Will he be working with machines or mostly hand tools?
