This uke is African Mahogany with Mac Eb FB, Braz RW head plate (inlaid with my logo by Don Williams), and my first radial rosette, in EIR.

Each uke has had lighter bracing, and on this one, I did not add a bridge plate. The video (see link below) shows it played plugged in, but it really had a mellow quality and good sustain unamplified too.

Pickup is K&K Aloha Twin which I installed before closing the box. Cameron Hood is one half of the band, Ryanhood, and he is playing an original tune. I completed it at 2 in the afternoon, he picked it up at 6 and they left for their current tour the next day. Sure hope it holds up!

Thanks Nick! I really had to race to finish this in time for their tour, so I didn't get many "glamour shots", but then I'm still a Newb, so they aren't real glamorous to look at yet :)

Very nice, Beth. The rosette sets it off very well and I like the head stock shape, too. I think it's an elegant little instrument.

Thanks Guys! Nick, the top was about 0.075". I never measured the brace heights, but it has transverse brace about 10% smaller than the plan (Hana Lima for bracing plan), and much lighter waist brace and 3 small fan braces. The braced top weighed 2.8 oz before trimming.

I forgot to tell about my biggest "oops" on this one. I have been gluing my fretboards on by using index pins (1/16" nails) through slots 1 and 11. This time, though the pins were right where I put them, the holes must have been a tiny bit bigger than the pins because the FB slipped. I unclamped it the next day and it was slightly skewed.
So I got to have the experience of removing a FB. Used an iron set to low (non-steam) temp, and a pair of spatulas and took my time. I got it off without incident, and was able to fully scrape the glue residue from both surfaces. To avoid the problem again, I glued sacrificial pieces of wood on either side of the FB and when they were fully set up, wedged the FB in and viola'……success! I'm actually glad it happened because dealing with it successfully gave me some confidence. Thanks again for looking :)

Very nice!
You have lots of frets on that one. I usually quit at fifteen. Nobody that I know plays past twelve.
If he is a pro, he may be able to use them all.

Agreed, Bob, but I like my FB end to echo my headstock design and to come just over the sound hole. If I stopped at 15, I'm afraid it would look like I forgot to fret the end of the board Ha!
Also, he is a pro musician so better safe than sorry :)
