John, I'm getting ready to build my first uke - a tenor. What are ballpark target thicknesses for tops (spruce) and backs? |

I think your back and sides is Macassar Ebony, I have just finished one in that wood and the colours are almost exact. Cheers Alan |

My spruce tops for the tenors were right around 2 mm. Yes, I got past this point already. Rosettes are in, tops are thicknessed, soundhole reinforcements installed and soundholes cut. It remains to be seen if I'm building ukes or defectively small guitars.
