I was thinking of picking up one of LMIs Binding Machines and the binding machine carrier. I called and they said the binding machine carrier will not scale down to fit a Ukulele. Does anyone of a binding jig made for a Ukulele? Thanks |

I only use the StewMac binding router bits with bearings in my Makita laminate trimmer. No jigs, holders etc. Over 300 ukes now and can't imagine needing anything more complicated. |

I'm not sure how the LMI works, but I have a Blues Creek jig and carriage. It allows me to flip the foam piece around and it works great for ukulele. You can't go wrong with Blues Creek! ![]() New username, same ole Pat Mac |

I got one of these $35 binding jigs from Ken Cierpowski (no longer in business I think). I have used it with success on 7 guitars, but on the only uke I built I was able to clamp it in the vice and pass the body over it. Very simple, quick, effective, and almost foolproof. |

You need a closely sized cradle for any of the tower binding systems or the cradle will bump into the tower. I drilled some ukulele holes in my cradle and installed brass inserts; a very easy modification. but I use a Fleischmann binding system that reaches over the cradle. |

I hadn't thought about that, but yes I use a Fleischman style also.New username, same ole Pat Mac |

I love this forum!!! I have used a router with binding router bits and bearings to cut slots on a guitar and it worked fine, but the Ukulele has a slight curve to the back. I am afraid the binding slot will not be cut straight. Am I over thinking this? |

Made my own, too easy. Both the jig and the cradle. See post #13. It’s since been updated with a DeWalt DW611 and a Zero-bar style bearing foot (made that too). https://forum.ukuleleunderground.com/sh ... -box/page2 Note, the cradle is set for one size, but it can easily be made adjustable. Most guys I know that use a binding jig for ukulele have an LMI or SMD. Haven’t seen anyone around me with a parallelogram. |
