The carved back, sides, and neck are ebonized sapele with a carved Sitka top from Alaska Specialty Woods. The top is a hand rubbed burst using everclear and dyes from StewMac. The finish is 3 passes using Ecopoxy.

Now to figure out how to play it, M

Looks great - how about a picture of the back?

Did the Ecopoxy dissolve the dyes at all? Did you put anything on first as a sealer? Did you find Ecopoxy in any quantities short of the 50 gallon drum sizes that are offered on Amazon?

Thanks, Ed

Hi Ed,

Yes, some of the pigments did come off on the application pad. Yes, I sealed the purflings with CA and a q-tip. I had to come back with a sanding stick to clean up the purflings after the first pass with the Ecopoxy.

West Wind Hardwood in Sidney, BC is where I bought my 1L build kit.

Sorry Quine,

I’ll post more when I return from our ski trip.
