Thank you Charlie!
This is by far my best sounding build.
I will see if I can get a sound clip together...

I just wanted to bump this so that I could thank you for going so in-depth on neck carving and neck adjustment, Robbie. I'm about to start this in earnest on my first build and have been nervous since I haven't had a comprehensive resource to refer to. Now I do - right down to the barrel-bolt/MT neck joint! Thank you for documenting this!

BTW, I also see that a few of the steps I've taken this far I should have waited to do. It would have saved me a few headaches. Next time I'll know better. Thanks again!

Carving the heel:

First step is to lay out the centerlines and heelcap shape

Then the sides are ramped in a straight line, just shy of the layout lines

The cheeks are then carved

The Primary Facet is carved, which starts at a 45 degree angle to the centerline at the
heelcap. just shy of the layout line

The Secondary Facets have been carved, which take a tiny bit of material from the primary face to the centerline and just shy of the cheek line. I have already begun smoothing with my needle files

The carving is done, no big blowouts - ready for fitting!
