It was a great game. Hard fought, with suspense and crazy turns of events right through the very end.

And may I add, I'm sure glad it turned out the way it did!

bliss

Very exciting game! I would have preferred a Seattle win, but to have it come down to the wire like that is way more fun than watching a game that's over by halftime.

I'm by no means an expert football strategist, but I don't think calling a pass play at that moment was a terrible idea. You have one timeout, it's second down and you have :26 seconds left on the clock. It is unlikely that you can execute three running plays in that scenario. So, if you want to give yourself the greatest chances of having all three downs at your disposal, you're going to have to throw at least once. Doing so on second down is the optimal choice, as it allows you to stop the clock and set up for third down without burning your timeout. The only downside, of course, is you could throw an interception. :-)

Oh, well. I stopped getting emotionally caught up in this kind of stuff when I was a kid. What disappointed me the most was the fight at the end. That was stupid and embarrassing. If I were Paul Allen, there'd be one or two fewer players on my payroll today.

Congrats to all you Patriots fans!
