I'll go for it, but it'll mean making three simultaneously if I have to use English/European wood. It'll be a....actually I'm not sure, will have to think about it, but a challenge is a great idea at this stage of my involvement with guitar-making anyway.

Since you put me on the list, I will try to comply. Please correct my name to Kirby.

Mine is going to be a classical out of NE Cherry and NW Redcedar. If I haven't started by the end of January, I'll bail.

I forgot to mention that I'll be building a Soprano ukelele out of Lauan or Cypress with a Macassar Ebony bridge and bringerboard, and possibly a tapered tuner like the one they use on a violin.

I'm going to do some homework. If I can source some tuners and bridge and electronics cheaply enough, I might try to build an electric bass. Something that's been in the luthiery section of my bucket list for a long time.

I suspect it's a non-starter based on the cost of the hardware though...

What the heck! I'll try to get this done in time. This will be my first build, and I can't even use any of my acquired stash!
I just hope it doesn't sound like a banana bow with strings!

Alex :D

I think I am one of the inferred on the list, but I will plan on participating with the same caveat that we all need, as long as time permits. I do have materials on hand, Port Orford salvaged from the forest, black oak from some one's yard, as well as some figured oak and cherry from the lumber yard.
I have no idea what I will build, could be a uke since a middle school student wants to make one with me, or a parlor, or an electric, I will likely do this over spring break, and decide a few minutes before I start.
Nice to see a list of names up there, I have long thought this would fun on this forum.
Rob

Sign me up. I've been wanting to build a guitar from all domestic woods, and this was just the motivation I needed.

I had a gourd I was going to make a bug back mando out of.
I wonder what happened to that thing.
Probably pitched it when we moved last.
I bought out Todd Taggerts supply of tuners he had left,
(he doesn't sell tuners anymore),
and I got a mish-moshed set of 5 Schallers for $10.
Looks like my tenor Weiss style lap will become a reality!
I was going to build 2 Phins,
but the wood for those is from far away lands.
