GRRRRR!!! I accidentally clicked on this link twice! I owe you two bucks. I suppose you can take that off of your total. With Bryan's dollar, your budget just grew to $103!!

OK , Time to kick this off . I have in my shop a resonator from a banjo that is alllllll by itselff . ( may disqualify me right outa the gate ) ANYWAYYY Im building with it . It has to be modified quite a bit , has several cracks that need repairing but all in all faster than buildning a new one with No Banjo Jigs .

So if Im Dq'd ohh well , lol

I have to route out a 3/8" strip in the inside that runs around the side all the way around that the Metal Banjo Ring Attaches to and add kerfing strips . If you look closely there are several small cracks all over the finish , so ity has to be sanded back down glued and refinished .

This is a Prototype Instrument and I hope it turns out as well as I hope .

Wud, you stole my idea! I have this guitar sitting around that doesn't have a set of tuners on it. I was going to screw them on, string'er up, and beat all of youz guys!

Seriously, though, if you have a resonator that means you're building a banjo. Did I say banjo? Banjo! Banjo?!!

;-)

NOPE LOL thats the beauty of this Idea LOL

I have to admit that I only have a vague guess as to what is going on here, but I can't wait to see it happen.

You got my interest Wud. This thread reminds me of an old SNL skit with Steve Martin and Bill Murray, some of you may remember. "What the hell is that?"

That is a nice looking workshop hat. It will really keep the sun off your face when you are near the window. I particularly like the artsy vent holes. It is nice to see you with headgear that is not of the tin foil variety.

I already know that this build will win. Any top that has a remote control (as seen in the pic) for dialing in the tone has to win. Talk about advancments in the world of luthiery. I bet Tony wishes Costa guitars thought of that first.
In all seriuosness, this is looking to be an interesting build. I look forward to seeing and hearing the finished product.

We did think of it first. That's old school. At Costa guitars we surgically implant the control into your cerebral cortex so you can control the tone with your mind!!

Well here at Muir Castle Srtings, we have crawled out of the dark ages and distanced ourselves from the barbaric necessity for brain surgery. When we tap tune our plates we dial in the resonant frequencies of the future owners resonant plane using astro projection, the aura finder iPhone app and a piano hammer. The instrument learns to anticipate the players needs. Also we use hot hide glue.

At Costa guitars we also use hide glue but ours is made from our enemies. But you and I... we're cool, right?
