I was going make my own needle setup :?: for injecting steam into a guitar neck and was wondering if using a "perforated" needle with holes in the side would be OK.? I found those for about $10. Or would it be better to just get the one already made from Stew Mac?

If it were me, I'd go for a hole at the end, though ones out the side should work. I've made my needles from an air pump needle for inflating basketballs and also thin tubing from the local hardware store. No need for anything fancy here.

OK , I'll see what's laying around the house. I've got an old pressure cooker for steam. I was given an old Yamaha G-70 that was found on side of the road, just thought it would be a challenge to see if I could get it to play again.
