When we have to get into a place that our arms can't fit we employ David's daughter and she is always keen to help. Hope this is not breaking any child labor laws though....

Had an unusual job this weekend on a custom Breedlove. The client was having trouble with the factory installed LR Baggs piezo/mic combo. In fact, he called it a "feedback machine". He wanted the whole thing pulled, and a LR Baggs M1 soundhole mic installed. This also required I fabricate a new saddle from a blank - he wanted slightly higher action, too. No problem. Since my chunky wrist has barely any room to move in the soundhole, I called on my super skinny pal who handles musical electronics to remove the old parts. After I fitted the new saddle, snapped in the new pickup, and restrung it - the high dollar twanger was again ready for action. Please note that the client is left handed, but plays right handed instruments - hence a very odd shape. He has been playing 5 nights a week for decades, and hopefully will enjoy his "repaired" Breedlove for many more years. http://s588.photobucket.com/user/studem ... sort=3&o=0 |
