Hi everyone, I would like to share, for the first post, my 2001 Taylor 314ce's customized controller. About 4 years ago I installed a Baggs Anthem piezo/mic with the controller taped inside the sound-hole. It was ok, sounded pretty good, what bothered me was how the controller didnt quite fit to the underside of the sound-hole...some of the bracing was in the way causing the control to be at a slight angle. The installation also left a gaping rectangular hole in the upper bout where the original Fishman control once sat.

I had some ideas over the years of how to cover the hole and finally did something about it. Deciding to add a Feedback Buster in the sound-hole I had to move the Baggs Anthem controller whose location and placement I was never satisfied with anyway. I had some Mahogany veneer and chunks kicking around and here is some pics of what I came up with to accommodate moving the controller and covering the bout hole.

I just bought a Baggs Venue to add to the mix and will say the variety of sounds you can dial in is very satisfying, Im real happy with the lot. The new location setup for the controller looked a bit clunky to me at first but has grown on me and is much easier to access than before, and the guitar still fits the case without issue.

Welcome to the forum.

Glad you like what you've done. It would not be a viable commercially available solution that we would ever offer to anyone because you can kiss using a snug fitting case goodbye. Cases are pretty important for most folks who play out.

Nicely done though, very clean work and it blends in nicely too.

Thanks Hesh, actually it does fit the hard-shell case the guitar came in when I purchased it, its a molded case that has a little relief pocket built in I guess for the fishman controller that stuck out a little too. I do play out and fitting the case was a consideration. I have thought about trimming the controller holder piece lower so it sits less proud maybe making it more commercially viable even, but for right now its working.
