Just wanted to let everyone know what a great guy Steve from Colonial Tonewoods is.

As some of you know I just got my first commission build and I'm a little nervous about getting everything right on this one. My client and I went over what all he wanted and after emailing back and forth for a few weeks I was ready to get the needed supplies.

I chose to call Steve at Colonial because I'd heard so many good things from those who had already done business with him. I wasn't disappointed with my decision. What a great vendor we have in Steve.

I chose curly maple for the back and sides and Steve sent me a gorgeous set. I also got a AAA Adi top and some Adi brace stock. The binding will be curly koa and Steve had those too. I even got purfling material from him. Oh yea, he had the Macassar ebony fingerboard, bridge blank and headstock overlay as well.

Nothing like opening a package of wood and getting exactly what you were expecting to get!

Thanks again Steve!!

I forgot to mention that the first set of koa bindings he sent were not what I was looking for. I called Steve back and told him about it and sent him a pic of what I had in mind. He sent me a set of bindings that were as good a match as you could ever expect from a pic.

Then he told me to just keep the first set and use it on something later on.

Steve is definately on my repeat vendor list!
