I tried them on my last (4th) build. I didn't notice much of a difference while installing, finishing or playing. Without a side by side comparison with a standard wire, it's kind of a subtle visual difference. To my eye, it looks more vintage than bling. In the pic, they almost look standard compared with the gold tuners. They're actually about the same shade as the strings.

I'm think that thier EVO gold fret wire is made by Jescar. If it is then it is
about the same hardness as the best nickel silver wire, which ranges from
180 to 200 on the Vickers (HV-5) hardness scale. I have the sources and
rolling mills written down somewhere for most of the distributors and
brands of fret wire, but I'm pretty sure that's the Jescar stuff.

By asking questions. Most distributors won't likely list thier sources, but the
manufacturers will usually proudly name off thier customers. There were a
few I couldn't quite peg (like StewMac), but I got lists of what I am pretty
sure are most of the sizes from all of the rolling mills that I know of. From
there I could usally fill in the gaps with a fair degree of certainty.

What does knowing all this get me? Pretty much nothing I suppose, but I
have a habit of investing rediculous amounts of time in things that I am
simply curious about.
