Good luck on your wood quest. Let us know what you find. Road workers cut down some oak trees recently near where I live, and I was thinking, "If I could borrow a chainsaw and find some branch-free sections, I could split those into billets and dry them for a couple of years, and then find someone with a re-saw capable bandsaw...."
