I buy directly from K&K and I think they made me a dealer. I don't sell them
to others though.   To become a dealer as a luthier, you need to prove to
them you build and sell guitars. They wanted to see picts of my shop etc.
I dealt with Christy. Here email address is
christy@kksound.com

Me too, I do a lot of installs but don't sell the pickup
without the install. Great folks.

Evan, may I ask what would be a normal charge for a install? I would like to get an idea what to charge my customer.

I am also through my music store. www.newbergmusiccenter.com
The web site is in the process of renovation so the K&K's may not be up right now.

just e-mail them and tell em you build guitars and they will, most likely, sell
to you at dealer cost. That's what I did, and they are really great to work
with.

Put me on that list too, Peter. I've been a dealer for about 3 years now. Echoing what John said ... they are great to work with! Really nice products.

Best,

Jim

I also am a K & K dealer. And I also echo what everyone else has said. Great products, good people to work with.

I am too, but it sounds like you have found enough dealers to keep you in product.

Hi Peter,
it is a pretty easy install so I usually charge $40 for a steel string and $60 for classical. The classical one is a bit trickier. My arm is not as skinny as it used to be
Best, Evan

evan, in due course, if you are like me, the arms will get skinnier but other dimensions will increase

but i know what you mean about small soundholes. and increasing stiffness in fingers and wrists doesn't help either.

Evan, what do you charge for installing the Trinity system with the bridge plate transducers plus the condenser mike (assuming the external preamp is used)? TIA

Hi Howard,
I have never installed the Trinity yet, it seems like just an additional mic placement. Maybe another $20 to bring it up to $60. I tend to work in $20 increments.
I would never do a side mounted preamp on any guitar. I have a list of ethical things I wont do to a guitar. Everything should be external. I am sure you agree.
Best, Evan
