Well done my friend, that's looking great, glad to have been of help and as I said anything else I can do just let me know. We gotta look after our Serge!

Thanks much all!

ALAIN, YOU BET DUDE!

Thanks Colin, i sure appreciate the philosophy behind your bracing, it made a heck of a difference and i learned a lot just following your instructions, it was common sense through the whole process, you made one Bear very happy my friend!

Thanks Hesh, you got a solid point there that i was gonna forget, especially with DREADNAUGHTS where we look for more bass right? Oh and i hear ya on listening to wood, everytime i tap a top or a back in front of a non initiated, they always get that look on their face saying "Gonna call the nuthouse on this guy!"

Just don't let them hear you talking to it..."C'mon, darlin', daddy needs some more midrange!"

Nice work, Serge. Thanks for letting us know how the tap changed as you carved away the excess. Interesting!

[QUOTE=Serge Poirier]

The tap tone went from loud to clear dramatically as i fine tuned each one individually, i think this kind of bracing is revolutionnary! Not sure that i will ever scallop braces again!

Best regards

Serge

Serge, when you say the the tap tone when from loud to clear - could you explain more? Did it lose volume? How else did it change? I have never tapped a soundboard, so I'm really interested in the changes you heard.

Ok Lillian, i'll try!

Before i tried Colin's method, the top sounded loud but with more bass or better yet, sounded like a drum, more like a loud thump(sp?). Started carving , shaving and tapping each brace individually and noticed how the sound would increase and get more crisp and cleear, more of PING a than a THUMP, hoping i make any sense!

    You gonna try to half-tone the back, like Carruth Sergio?

Yes, you made perfect sense, and you spelled thump correctly as well.

Thanks.

Rereading, i noticed i forgot to thank Carlton buddy!

Thanks Billy, not sure what Al Carruth does it but i plan on reducing the braces height a bit more yes!

Thanks Lillian, glad i could help sis!
