Well, I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but after 4 coats with the aeorsol Guitar Lacquer, my back and sides are looking *darn* good (toot-toot!). I know that I'm not out of the woods yet, but after a couple of rough starts, I seem to be able to get a very regular spray pattern, and pretty consistent coverage. I'm actully shooting 3-4 light coats per 'shoot', then letting that dry 3-4 hours, light scuff to get any small fuzzies or trash out (slight block sanding to get the one 'near-run' thick spot out, which worked right out, BTW). The initial egg-shell finish smooths out after a few seconds, and apparently any thick spots can be 'set' by holding them horizontal for a little while.

It seems that keeping the can absolutely vertical is key. That, and keep moving, back and forth, with no stopping or short shots... just continual back and forth beyond the body on either side. I was able to get jsut about all the contents out of can #1 without quality of spray deteriorating (Dan Erlewine suggested stopping with about 1/3 left).

This may have all already been noted before, but it's new to me. Some reinvention of the wheel, I'm sure :)

Anyway, I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and moving ahead. Hope this is helpful to someone out there!

I'm still trying to figure out what I'm going to do about finish on #2 and was
just reading about this product last night.

Hesh,

To me, I think that looks fantastic! That's a finish I would be happy with.
If you don't mind, I'd like to PM you for details on your procedure for
using the spray-bobs.
